mRemote has stopped working – solution found
Few days ago my mRemote stopped working by crashing with “mRemote has stopped working”.
I tried uninstalling, and reinstalling and nothing worked, so I left it like it for few days while using MSTSC !
Today i decided to see if i can understand what went wrong, so i ran PROCMON and followed the endless lines from bottom to up (to reduce my work), i saw that just after reading private config file under my user it failed
I edited the file user.config and saw that it was zero length (how come) and decided to delete it (maybe the issue related to failure on deserialization)
Luckily that did the job!

I am having a simular issues on a vista PC, i removed all files and tried to re-install. when i run mRemote it says "mremote stopped working" not sure if you can help?
Its sound like the same issue, please search "%AppData%\Roaming\Felix_Deimel" for config file (user.config) and if its 0 - delete it
thank you- for posting this... I was having the same exact problem and this was the fix for me as well.
Thank you! Thank you! Vista 32-bit same error.. Love mRemote.
Windows 7 x64 - same problem today. I thank you for posting this because it also fixed my problem (I'd even used a third party uninstaller to scrape out all remnants of the program before reinstalling, but apparently it missed this one file?!?!)
thank u guys
awesome thanks!
Dude... you just made my day with this fix. That was my problem too.
Life Saver!
Does anyone know what caused this?
Perfect fix! I've stopped hyperventilating. Thanks!
Thanks so much Ran.
Awesome, thanks for the fix!
I'm running Win7 64bit & yesterday evening I closed all Mremote sessions & closed the app.
This morning it wasn't starting anymore.
Removing the file user.config in C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Felix_Deimel did not resolve the problem.
I found another Felix_Deimel folder in C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\
After removing the folder over there, Mremote was working again normally.
Thank you. Your answer is exactly correct. I got in this situation by running mRemote on a system that I was remotely logged into. During the transverse process of remoting to a system that is remoting it somehow caused the middle system to freeze. Hence corrupting mRemote.
Thanks for this tip. I have a host of connections in my mRemote and this would have left me useless.
Thanks for the tips, issue solved :)
Thank you for helping me!!! :)
I am glad i did a search before i try to uninstall or reinstall. Your solution worked! THANK YOU! and Happy New year!
Eureka - you found it - thanks for posting - was driving me crazy -
