Microsoft Sync Framework
Microsoft Sync Framework is a comprehensive synchronization platform enabling collaboration and offline for applications, services and devices with support for any data type, any data store, any transfer protocol, and network topology.

- File system
- ADO.NET
I suggest that you start by reading the "Introduction to the Microsoft Sync Framework Runtime".
I am very excited about this new framework and I will start blogging about this in the near future (and using :))
